Softunebd - E-Commerce Platform for Bangladesh
A no-code storefront builder for Bangladeshi businesses, with bKash, Nagad, COD and local courier support built in from day one.
Softunebd is my own multi-tenant e-commerce SaaS - a Shopify-style store builder built specifically for the Bangladeshi market, where local payment rails and couriers matter more than a generic global checkout.
The Challenge
Global store builders don't speak bKash, Nagad, or COD - and small BD merchants pay for it.
Most store builders available to Bangladeshi merchants either bolt on local payments as an afterthought, charge a cut of every order, or lock branding into one generic theme. I set out to build a platform that treats bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz and COD as first-class, not a plugin.
The Approach
A multi-tenant platform on Next.js and FastAPI, with a live theme editor and a Gemini-powered assistant built into the dashboard.
The storefront and dashboard run on Next.js and React, backed by a Python/FastAPI service layer, Supabase and PostgreSQL for tenant-isolated data, and Redis/RabbitMQ for background jobs like order events and AI credits. Merchants get a live drag-and-drop Theme Editor, a built-in POS for walk-in sales on the same catalog, and an AI assistant that reads their real store data to answer questions and draft product copy.
The Result
A 0%-transaction-fee platform merchants can launch a store on the same day.
Softunebd now runs on three pricing tiers with a 7-day free trial, centralizes COD, manual and official bKash/Nagad, and SSLCommerz on one Payments screen, and ships with fraud protection, an SEO/tracking suite (Meta CAPI, GA4, TikTok), and a growing marketplace of 25+ built-in add-ons.
